The OHL Classic at Mayakoba is the only PGA TOUR event in Mexico and is regarded as one of the finest by professionals and spectators alike.
Since 2007, the Mayakoba Golf Classic tournament, made history in the world of golf to become the first tour of the PGA which takes place outside the United States and Canada. With the wonders of the Riviera Maya and Cancún regions and the hospitality of the Mexican people, golf lovers can come and enjoy one of the best golf tournaments in the Caribbean. And for the rest of the year, Quintana Roo is home to several excellent golf courses where you can practice your moves.

EL CAMALEON MAYAKOBA
This 18-hole par 72-course is nestled within a luxury resort complex in the heart of the Riviera Maya, less than an hour south of Cancun. The Audubon Society has recognized it for its wildlife-friendly landscape: lined by jungle and mangroves, and peppered with sand dunes, cenotes, and lagoons. It’s also the PGA Tour site for the OHL Classic and home to the Jim McClean Golf School.
POK-TA-POK
Named for the ancient Mayan ball game, this course’s signature feature is 1,000-year-old Mayan ruins. Located in the Cancun Hotel Zone, the 18-hole Pok-Ta-Pok golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., with views of the Nichupte Lagoon and small sandstone relics. Services include a driving range, two putting greens, and a restaurant with waterfront views. Thirsty on the course? Roving golf cart bars often pass by.
TPC CANCUN COUNTRY CLUB
This is the only Tournament Players Club facility outside the United States and it boasts two 18 hole courses; the championship Nick Price designed one couse and Tom Fazio course de second one. The club, located just south of Cancun and only 7 minutes from the airport, has an outstanding English speaking staff and is one of the best places to play golf in the area. Facilities include a pro shop, a grill, a luxury clubhouse, a practice area, and a golf academy.
RIVIERA CANCUN GOLF CLUB
This golf club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is located only 5 minutes from the Cancun International Airport at km 26 of the Hotel Zone. This course was built with habitat preservation in mind. There are large pipelines that run below the golf course and that serve as artificial channels and maintain the water flow into the mangroves, which are an essential part of the local ecosystem and are abundant on this course. Crocodiles even use the pipelines to move from one area to another. This facility features a clubhouse with a premium liquor bar on the 19th hole, a pro shop, a practice area, equipment rentals, bag storage and breathtaking views of the turquoise the Caribbean Sea.
PLAYA MUJERES GOLF CLUB
Playa Mujeres Golf Club is located in Punta Sam, a newly developed area 20 minutes north of the Hotel Zone and is open from sunrise to dusk. The course is 18 holes, Par 72, and was designed by Greg Norman with respect for the abundant local flora and fauna. This course is one of the only ones in Mexico supported by the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWG) and is considered one of the best in the country.
